The EAAE is involved in publishing scientific information. The European Review of Agricultural Economics is the official scientific journal of the EAAE. It has its own governance structure and the EAAE is not the owner of the journal. EuroChoices is the outreach journal of the EAAE. It is co-owned with the Agricultural Economics Society. Papers from our congresses and seminars are published electronically on AgEcon Search.
  • Fellows and Awards

    The Fellow Awards

The Awards Program of the EAAE has been introduced to recognize professional excellence in agricultural economics. It has Fellow Awards and Publication Awards. Fellow Award recipients are selected on the basis of their achievements in research and their contribution to the advancement of knowledge in areas related to food, agriculture and resource economics.
The main criterion for the selection is a relevant and continuous contribution to the advancement of agricultural economics in Europe demonstrated by exceptional contributions over a period of years in at least two of the following areas: research discoveries; outstanding teaching record; outstanding performance in administration and outstanding contribution to the profession through service.

    Nominations Fellows 2011 are welcome
The past and current Board believe the Fellow Awards are important for our Association; a wide involvement of the membership in the process which will lead to the fellows selection is very important in order to assure that fellows are recognised by the membership as a whole as truly deserving the honour.

The first six fellows of the EAAE were awarded at the 2008 congress in Ghent: Csaba Csaki, Michele de Benedictis, Quirino Paris, Jo Swinnen, Stefan Tangerman, and Vinus Zachariasse.  At the 2011 EAAE congress to be held in Zurich, August 30-September 3 next year,  a maximum of three additional fellows are to to be awarded.

The main criterion for selection is a relevant and continuous contribution to the advancement of agricultural economics in Europe. Achievements should be in research, teaching, administration and service to the profession.
"Relevant and continuous" contributions mean exceptional work over a period of years, to be demonstrated by a combination of achievements in at least two of the following areas: research discoveries; outstanding teaching record; outstanding performance in administration; outstanding contribution to the profession through service.

Nominations can be made by one or more individual members of the Association.  The nomination should make clear the impact the individual nominated has made in the areas of achievement to which he or she has contributed to the advancement of the profession in Europe.  This evidence could include, but is not limited to, reference to publications, awards, honours, reports and testimonials about deserving tasks undertaken and outcomes achieved, as well as other contributions to the profession.  The nomination package will include the name(s) and institution(s) of the nominator(s) and will be limited to a maximum of eight double-spaced pages.
Please note that current member of the Board, elected or ex-officio, or non-fellow members of the Fellows selection committee are ineligible to be elected Fellows. Please submit your nominations to the EAAE secretariat ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) by January 15, 2011.

    Journals and rankings
Members who are looking for journals to publish in, and find impact analysis of the journals important, can find interesting information in a list of journals put together by a team under the management of prof. Ernst Berg (Bonn University). On this website you find the ranking of the first 160 Journals based on the Index values (highest value, best ranked journal); on this website you find the first 160 Journals in alphabetical order but also indicating their index value and the category they belong to based on the index value.  There is a Working Paper (in German) providing some background information regarding the reason for carrying out the study as well as the method applied, click here.
