The European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) brings together agricultural economists and others interested in the problems of the agricultural and food industries and rural development in Europe. The main objectives of the Association are:
(a)  the furtherance of knowledge and understanding of agricultural economics, especially in the European context;
(b)  the exchange of experience, ideas and information between agricultural economists..

Our principal activities include the holding of a triennial Congress on a general theme (next one in 2014 in Slovenia), the organization of seminars devoted to more specific subjects and the publication of an electronic newsflash and the publication 'EuroChoices'. The European Review of Agricultural Economics (ERAE) is the official journal of the Association.

Your membership gives you the right to visit our activities, to order our publications at a discount, to benefit from the news in our newsflashes on events, publications and job openings, and to have access to the members-only part of this website with information on your colleagues.

Special Issue of EuroChoices Volume 14, No. 1 (2015)
Climate Change and Agriculture

Editors: John Davis, David Blandford and Wilfrid Legg

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is releasing its Fifth Assessment Report in four parts between September 2013 and November 2014. Greater emphasis will be placed on assessing socio-economic aspects of climate change. The report could have potentially important implications for policies and businesses in the agri-food sector and for rural development. Agriculture, especially meat and dairy production, is likely to face even greater scrutiny in efforts to mitigate GHG emissions. The sector itself will need to continue to adapt to climate change impacts.

Against this background a special issue of EuroChoices on the theme “Climate Change and Agriculture” is being planned for spring 2015. The issue will aim to cover key aspects of mitigation and adaptation challenges for the agri-food sector and rural areas in both Europe and globally, along with the implications for research and policy addressing climate change impacts.

If you would like to contribute to this special issue please submit a proposal of not more than 200 words to the Chief Editor, John Davis ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and copy to Co-editors, Wilfrid Legg ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and David Blandford ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Proposals must be submitted by 31st July 2014 at latest. If proposals are accepted articles must be submitted by 15th September 2014.
